The TickIT Scheme is an addition to ISO9001 for IT companies, and was set up in response to customer demand for a better response by Certification Bodies to the special needs of IT.

The most notable aspects of the TickIT Scheme are:

• TickIT auditors have actual experience of IT development, and are familiar with current IT.
• There are additional guidelines for use by TickIT auditors when carrying out assessments.
• There are no extra requirements, the assessment standard is ISO9001.
• The guidelines interpret the requirements of ISO9001 in IT terms.

A TickIT audit should take no longer than a non-TickIT audit. The difference is that you are assured of having an auditor with experience in the field, thus bringing added value.
